📍 Early Life and Background

Karrueche Tientrese Tran was born on May 17, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. She was raised by her Vietnamese mother and Jamaican godmother, while her father is African-American, giving her a rich multicultural heritage. Tran attended Fairfax High School before transferring to Birmingham High School, from which she graduated in 2006. Her early interest in fashion led her to work as a personal shopper and stylist at Nordstrom in Canoga Park between 2009 and 2012, eventually transitioning into freelance celebrity styling.

Tran's modeling career began with local brands, including being the face of Lady Crooks, the women's division of Crooks and Castles, for their Summer 2013 collection. In 2015, she featured in the Spring/Summer lookbook for French athletic brand Le Coq Sportif and appeared on the covers of magazines such as Rolling Out, Flaunt, and Bleu.
